Our story

Bay State Plumbing and Heating Supply Co., Inc. was founded in 1949 at 15 Mill Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. Three generations later, we’re still on the same street, still family-owned, still focused on the same thing: stocking what plumbing and heating contractors actually need, and making sure the counter staff knows the difference.

The trade has changed. The expectation hasn’t. Contractors don’t want to drive across town for a part. They don’t want to wait three days for a quote. They want someone who picks up the phone, knows the model number, and can hand them what they need.

That’s the company we built and the company we still run.

What we stock deep

We’re one of New England’s largest stocking distributors of Lochinvar residential and commercial boilers, water heaters, indirect tanks, and storage tanks. That’s our anchor line — spec engineers across Western MA and Northern CT keep coming back to it because the equipment runs and the parts are available.

Beyond Lochinvar, our shelves carry the lines contractors actually pull from: Watts mixing valves and backflow, Webstone isolation valves, Taco and Grundfos circulators, Liberty sump and sewage pumps, and the copper, PVC, PEX, and black-iron fittings that make the rest of it work.

We also operate a Kohler Signature Showroom on the premises — the only one in the region with full faucet displays, working tubs, and the actual finishes lined up for designers and homeowners to see in person. Visit the showroom →

How we work

In-stock means in-stock.

If we list it, we have it. Counter pickup most days within 30 minutes. If a part’s on order, we say so — you don’t hear it tomorrow.
